Leads the design, development and delivery of Quintet’s/ Merck Finck’s media relations and internal communications strategy in Germany, setting robust measures for success that support the firm’s reputation and overall growth strategy – working in very close coordination with Group Corporate Communications and management in Germany.
 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Lead the development and execution of a robust internal communication and media relations strategy for Quintet in Germany, aligned with the firm’s growth strategy and supporting its reputation among employees, media and other stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on all communications topics – both internal and external – including by working in partnership with a wide range of colleagues from functions such as the front office, HR, Marketing, CIO and Compliance
  • Draft/edit a wide range of engaging content, including messages to staff, presentations and speaker notes (internal) as well as press releases, press statements, FAQs and speaker notes (external); organize staff and media events as required. Work closely with the
  • Marketing team on content production and publications
  • Build strong relationships with relevant media, serving as a spokesperson for the firm as required
  • Carry out communications activities in alignment with the overall group corporate communications strategy, including by actively contributing to relevant group-wide activities
  • Manage an allocated budget, including by working with third-party suppliers as required
  • Carry out additional duties as may reasonably be required and in a positive spirit of collaboration

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Knowledge of private banking/financial services sector
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an equivalent role (PR agency and/or in-house corporate communications), including working with relevant media/journalists in Germany

Attributes and Qualities

 

  • Intellectually curious self-starter who works well both autonomously and as part of acollaborative team
  • Great listener with strong people skills who can transform complex information into a compelling narrative
  • Very strong writing skills, including ability to draft clear, concise and compelling content for both internal and media audiences, among others

Technical Skills

 

  • Fully competent in MS tools; familiarity with web/design tools a plus

Languages Skills

 

  • Native German speaker with working English-language skills; additional languages a plus
