Purpose of the Job

 

Quintet Private Bank is a leading private bank in the wealth management sector; we are committed to our clients and their families, and pride ourselves on our personalised service based on a deep understanding of what clients want to achieve. Compared to others, we are small (<2,000 employees across 50 European and UK locations) with an ambition to stay true to our purpose to be the most trusted fiduciary of family wealth. We are looking to hire a mid to senior level general banking lawyer from in an in-house financial services team based in Luxembourg or from a top tier law firm with previous experience of topics relevant to the private banking business. This is an excellent opportunity to join our European legal network to provide legal advice to the Luxembourg bank and collaborating closely across the Europe teams to share best practice, provide consistent advice and use skills to work on projects at Europe and Group level when appropriate. 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Provide good quality legal advice on a broad range of topics to enable Quintet to identify, manage and report legal risk 
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to demonstrate value add of having a lawyer involved early with key matters concerning client management 
  • Manage own workload of general banking / wealth management work 
  • Pro-actively engage with the business / stakeholders 
  • Collaborating with colleagues across Europe on common topics, adopting common approach and adopting best practice 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Mid to senior level qualified lawyer with in-house financial services experience in Luxembourg OR from top tier law firm in financial services Luxembourg 
  • MiFID II / Litigation / Credit Contract management experience is preferred

  • Familiar with working independently on own initiative to manage workload and as part of a small European network in Luxembourg with colleagues in The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium 
  • Capable of dealing with a variety of topics simultaneously with conflicting deadlines 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting solutions with stakeholders which are easily understood 

Technical Skills

 

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ relevant experience working in an in-house team in private banking / wealth management sector 

Languages Skills

 

  • Fluent in English and French (business level)
