Purpose of the Job


We are looking to hire a mid to senior level banking and financial services lawyer with previous experience of products and services relevant to the private banking / wealth management business.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a new specialist legal team within the new Group Legal Function  exclusively dedicated to the legal support of the Global Product and Services (“GPS”) team and provide legal advice and support on various projects across Quintet Group.


GPS is the department in charge of the entire range of products and services for the Group. It geographically covers all our locations. Its scope is very broad since the products and services include capital market products, alternative investment products, Quintet's structured funds, their distribution and all solutions offered to clients, including investment advisory, lending and wealth planning.


As a member of the Legal GPS team you will enrich your professional experience in the heart of the development of Quintet's products and services in an international environment. You will report to and work closely with the Head of Legal GPS. You will be based in Luxembourg, Switzerland, or UK.

Key Accountabilities


• Manage the legal aspects of projects relating to new or existing product and service across the  Group, in close collaboration with the business units and the compliance department


• Proactively engage with stakeholders to demonstrate value add of having a lawyer involved early with key matters concerning products and services


• Provide excellent quality legal advice on a broad range of topics, within the products and services specialist team to enable Quintet to identify, manage and report legal risk


• Manage own workload in close collaboration with the Head of Legal GPS


• Pro-actively engage with the business / stakeholders


• Work within Legal GPS specialist team collaborating with colleagues across the Group Legal Function, including the legal teams across Europe, the UK and in Switzerland, as well as the other specialist legal team, the Cross Border Legal Team.

Knowledge and Experience


•  Mid to senior level qualified lawyer with in-house financial services experience of relevant products and services of a private bank able to manage multi-entities projects


•  Experience in: DPM and investment advisory agreements, Financial Markets products (including derivatives and structured products), complex lending/financing instruments, Distribution Agreement, Private Equity funds, UCITS funds, Alternative funds and products


•  Preferred: Deep knowledge of MiFID and similar regulations in UK and Switzerland and ability to manage projects / new products across a range of entities

•  Independent working, transparent, proactive approach with stakeholders and line manager


•  Capable of taking on broad scope of responsibility, dealing with a variety of files simultaneously and delivering to conflicting deadlines and priorities


• Familiar with working independently on own initiative to manage workload and as part of a small dedicated GPS Legal team based in Europe with colleagues in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and UK


•  Ability to advise the GPS from a Group perspective, working with colleagues across the Legal Function to receive their local validation


•  Effective verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting solutions with stakeholders which are easily understood.

Technical Skills


•  Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ relevant experience working in an in-house team in private banking / wealth management / financial services sector

Languages Skills


•  Fluent in English (business level)


•  Knowledge of French and/or German is an asset, dependent on location
