Training & Awareness Officer


The role of Compliance Training & Awareness Officer is a key role within the Compliance function within the Quintet group and, in accordance with Quintet’s Matrix organisational structure, reports to Head of Group Compliance Training & Awareness (hierarchical and functional reporting line. 

The principal duty of the role is to ensure the execution of the Compliance Training & Awareness Plan and the administrative side of the execution. This includes preparing reporting on the execution and contacting the various stakeholders as part of the continuous cycle of development of the Training & Awareness program. 

The role holder also works closely with other Compliance colleagues from the six European markets in which Quintet operates, colleagues from Quintet’s first and third line of defence as well as colleagues from other Compliance teams and HR. This function is at Group level and as such a position in an international environment. The Group Compliance team is an international team comprised of specialists serving the Quintet Group.

The remit of the role covers the following areas, core to Private Banking, Financial Intermediaries Markets and Asset Servicing: Deposit-taking and payment services, lending, investment management and wealth planning. 


Purpose of the Job


The role comprises the following key accountabilities:



The role holder is hierarchically accountable to the Head of Group Compliance Training & Awareness for the successful completion in a timely manner and to the highest industry quality standards of the tasks delegated to him/her as set out in the Roles and Responsibilities Matrix.

Compliance Training & Awareness plan

The role holder is responsible for:

  • Drafting group-wide compliance training materials related to group-wide compliance guidelines & norms as well as to regulatory changes in cooperation with subject matter experts
  • Participating in developing inspiring learning content together with subject matter experts
  • Providing analyses, reporting, opinions and general advice on training matters throughout the network
  • Assisting in the group-wide Compliance awareness campaigns related to the regulatory evolution and to one-off awareness actions advising on the design of the Compliance Awareness Programs
  • Participating in the creation of Compliance information media (bulletin, newsletters, alerts . . .


Regulatory framework

The role holder should have at least general knowledge of European Banking Regulatory framework. 


Ad-hoc enquiries

Providing relevant stakeholders within Quintet with the necessary information on the areas covered in Compliance Training & Awareness Plan, by answering to their day-to-day enquiries in relation to business operations and interactions with clients. 


Interactions with regulators

Responsible for assisting the Head of Group Compliance Training & Awareness with ad-hoc interactions with regulators by informing key stakeholders, gathering the relevant information and assisting in the response drafting in a timely manner. 


Compliance culture

Responsible for displaying Quintet cultural values at all times during his/her interactions with the business as well as other colleagues within Compliance. Fostering a positive culture of compliance by working proactively with other business functions and compliance colleagues to ensure that best practices are followed in accordance with the applicable regulations, and internal policy.


Knowledge and Experience


  • Output-focused: Ability to consistently deliver tasks delegated by the Head of Group Compliance Training & Awareness in a timely manner and at a high quality standard. 
  • Technical Knowledge: professional experience with e-learning, face-to-face and webinar training and knowledge of the regulatory environment applicable to private banking and wealth management is are core skills of this role.
  • IT skills: Microsoft Office (in particular Powerpoint and Excel) tools, graphical skills, Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills. Capacity to act in an international Group with varying regulations and cultures.
