Purpose of the Job

We are looking to hire a mid to senior level investment funds lawyer with previous experience of  Luxembourg and offshore investment vehicles (regulated and unregulated structures).


This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist legal team within the new Group Legal Function exclusively dedicated to the legal support of the Global Product and Services (“GPS”) team and provide legal advice and support on various projects across Quintet Group. This role specifically supports our Assets Servicing, Fund Structuring and Group Alternative Investment teams.

GPS is the department in charge of the entire range of products and services for the Group. It geographically covers all our locations. Its scope is very broad since the products and services include capital market products, alternative investment products, Quintet's structured funds, their distribution and all solutions offered to clients, including investment advisory, lending and wealth planning.

As a member of the Legal GPS team you will enrich your professional experience in the heart of the development of Quintet's products and services in an international environment. You will report to and work closely with the Head of Legal GPS. You will be based in Luxembourg.


Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for designing and developing investment funds structures for institutional and private investors

• Negotiate the terms of separate managed account solutions for asset managers, family offices, insurance companies and other institutional investors

• Draft and/or review fund documentation, such as offering memorandums, articles of incorporation and application forms/subscription documentation, service agreements including depositary agreements, investment management agreements, distribution agreements

• Regular interactions with the business and operations teams as well as with clients, external professionals and CSSF

• Proactively engage with stakeholders to demonstrate value add of having a lawyer involved early with key matters in relation with our fund activity in the broad sense

• Provide excellent quality legal advice on all topics in relation with our fund activity in the broad sense to enable Quintet to identify, manage and report legal risk

• Manage own workload in close collaboration with the Head of Legal GPS and the other fund lawyers

• Pro-actively engage with the business / stakeholders

• Perform legal watch

• Work within Legal GPS specialist team collaborating with colleagues across the Group Legal Function, including the legal teams across Europe, the UK and in Switzerland, as well as the other specialist legal team, the Cross Border Legal Team

Knowledge and Experience

- Mid to senior level qualified investment funds lawyer within a law firm or a fund management company or a bank

- Experience in: UCITS funds, AIF funds,  as well as -offshore alternative funds

- Preferred: Deep knowledge of  Directive on Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and similar regulations in UK and Switzerland and ability to manage projects / new products across a range of entities

- Positive, proactive and growth mindset. Ability to evolve in a matrix environment with Business approach of the legal function

- Independent working, transparent, proactive approach with stakeholders and line manager

- Capable of taking on broad scope of responsibility, dealing with a variety of files simultaneously and delivering to conflicting deadlines and priorities

- Familiar with working independently on own initiative to manage workload and as part of a small dedicated GPS Legal team based in Europe with colleagues in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and UK

- Ability to advise the GPS from a Group perspective, working with colleagues across the Legal Function to receive their local validation

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting solutions with stakeholders which are easily understood


Technical Skills


- Qualified investment funds lawyer with at least 5 years’ relevant experience working in financial services sector (law firm, management company or bank industry)

Languages Skills

- Fluent in English (business level)

- Knowledge of French  and/or German is an asset
