Purpose of the Job

The successful candidate will work as part of the Macro & FX Team in Group CIO.

Key Accountabilities

- Provide forecasts/views/models on the economic and policy outlook, FX and commodities
- Contribute to Quintet’s suite of Counterpoint publications and other ad-hoc material
- Support asset allocation process, output, and modelling with quantitative macro & data analyses
- Work with Equity/Fixed Income Research and ESG by adding macro thematics & perspectives
- Interact with internal/external stakeholders on macro topics (local CIOs, Investment & Client Advisors, Finance/Treasury and other departments within the firm, clients, media)

Knowledge and Experience

Solid knowledge of macroeconomics, monetary & fiscal policy
Proven and relevant experience in connecting macro/policy trends to markets across asset classes; statistics/programming
Ability to derive investment insight from macro data analysis, with previous experience likely in the financial sector
Sound understanding of role of macro research in asset allocation and across the investment value chain

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Solid analytical skills, lateral thinking and judgment
A proactive approach and the ability to think outside the box

Technical Skills

Economics, market strategy across asset classes, statistics/econometrics and related programming/data packages

Languages Skills

Fluent in English, with strong writing, editing and presentation skills; other language a plus
