Purpose of the Job

 

Corporate Communication Manager leads the design, development and delivery of Quintet’s media relations and internal communications strategy in Belgium, setting robust measures for success that support the firm’s reputation and overall growth strategy – working in very close coordination with Group Corporate Communications and management in Belgium. 

Core responsibilities

 

  • Lead the development and execution of a robust internal communication and media relations strategy for Quintet in Belgium, aligned with the firm’s growth strategy and supporting its reputation among employees, media and other stakeholders 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on all communications topics – both internal and external – including by working in partnership with a wide range of colleagues from functions such as the front office, HR, Marketing, CIO and Compliance 
  • Draft/edit a wide range of engaging content, including messages to staff, presentations and speaker notes (internal) as well as press releases, press statements, FAQs and speaker notes (external); organize staff and media events as required.  Strong support of Marketing team for content production and publications. 
  • Build strong relationships with relevant media, serving as a spokesperson for the firm as required 
  • Carry out communications activities in alignment with the overall group corporate communications strategy, including by actively contributing to relevant group-wide activities  
  • Manage an allocated budget, including by working with third-party suppliers as required 
  • Carry out additional duties as may reasonably be required and in a positive spirit of collaboration 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Knowledge of private banking/financial services sector 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an equivalent role (PR agency and/or in-house corporate communications), including working with relevant media/journalists in Belgium
  • Intellectually curious self-starter who works well both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team 
  • Great listener with strong people skills who can transform complex information into a compelling narrative  
  • Cool customer able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes under pressure, while maintaining attention to every detail 

Technical Skills

 

  • Fully competent in MS tools; familiarity with design tools a plus 

Languages Skills

 

  • Native French or Flemish speaker; knowledge of other language a significant plus. Working English-language skills required 
  • Very strong writing skills in native (French or Flemish) language required, including ability to draft clear, concise and compelling content for both internal and media audiences, among others
