Purpose of the Job

 

The successful candidate will work as Country Deputy Manager, in direct collaboration with the Country Manager and the COO Quintet Europe.

Key Accountabilities

 

  1. Act as single point of contact and relationship facilitator between the Branch and the Group for all COO functions (IT, Operations and Facilities) as well as COO-related activities: the 1st LOD & BRM and MarCom and Business Support
  2. Report hierarchically to the Country Manager regarding the coordination duties
  3. Is a member of the Country Management Committee

 

More precisely, with respect to the management and oversight of the Branch, the Deputy Country Manager will: 

 

  1. Support the Country Manager from an operational perspective, ensuring efficient operations on a day-to-day basis, coordinating with other locations, branches and entities throughout the group on operational matters;
  2. Support and facilitate group initiatives and group processes at the local level
  3. Coordinate local functions which fall within the remit of Deputy Country Manager role;
  4. Manage the day-to-day delivery of services for the Branch across the functions, agreeing and ensuring relevant SLAs are delivered;
  5.  Assist the Country Manager in contributing to the safeguard and stability of Branch employees, especially during periods of change e.g. the present transformation into a branch and the implementation of a new TOM;
  6. Contribute to the sound implementation of the matrix organisation and any internal governance arrangements promoting good understanding and consistent application at the Branch, especially, within the support functions under his/her coordination
  7. Contribute to creating an inclusive environment for all employees in the location, immaterial of the roles individuals perform (with local focus or for the Group)
  8. Provide input to function heads on employee related process e.g. hire/termination, KPI setting/performance review, compensation, etc
     

Knowledge and Experience

 

 

  • Education (level & orientation) third level/Master’s degree
  • MBA qualification is an advantage in Economics / Information Technology/ Finance / Business / Law
  • Other required knowledge & experience
  • Proven and relevant business management experience across a range of business disciplines
  • Good knowledge of securities processing, order chains and custody operations (high level view)
  • Experience in servicing foreign clients
  • Change management experience
     

Attributes and Qualities

 

  • Ability to interact with key stakeholders: CEO, AMC, Group EXCO, Board, regulator(s)
  • Demonstrated ability to define and promote Operations Strategy at group level
  • Ability to define collectively with the business leads and group ExCo the portfolio of initiatives to be delivered at group level
  • Very good understanding of IT infrastructure in order to provide reliable and cost effective solutions
  • Ability to implement governance processes regarding all financial and technological decisions
  • Ability to manage external partners and outsourced operating model
  • Ability to provide guidance to senior managers in Operations, Information technology and Program management
  • Ability to identify and introduce innovation to take advantage of new technologies such as RPA, Workflow, IA
  • Very good understanding of risks framework to set up appropriate governance and solutions
     

Technical Skills

 

  • MS Office Suite
  • Good understanding of Technology, including Digital
     

Languages Skills

 

  • German (fluent) and any other European language would be advantageous
