Purpose of the Job

Brown Shipley are seeking a Junior Custody Administrator for a fixed term contract, it is expected to last between 18 and 24 months. The nature of the position, and the core values of BSco means that the successful candidate  will have the foundations and support to flourish in a career within financial services.

The role of the custody team recruited for this project will be to arrange for the transfer of client assets to Brown Shipley once clients have been onboarded.
The efficient and speedy transfer is essential if we are to give new clients a lasting positive impression of our business. These processes are regulated activities and are therefore subject to tight controls. You will begin by developing your knowledge of how transfers in are initiated and take responsibility for this work. 
This will involve liaising with the new client advisors, counterparties and custodians.  This role will involve communication with several other teams within Operations therefore exposing you to other elements of a client’s journey.
As your knowledge and understanding grow you will be responsible for further elements of the process.  You will learn about various investment products, including equities and bonds, funds of various types and the processing of Individual Savings Accounts (ISA’s) and how transfers are processed.

Key Accountabilities

• Initiating process for all transfers in ie. Requesting valuation
• Following Up with counterparties for outstanding items to progress transfers in of custody assets eg valuation/ISA notice via email/phone
• Communicating with counterparties, custodians and our Client Advisors to ensure the efficient transfer of assets via email/phone
• Ensure all internal procedures and regulations followed
• Opening post and logging on database
• Develop own professional expertise through on the job training, formal training and, where appropriate, professional qualifications
• Carry out any other duty as may reasonably be required to assist the team or other teams to achieve objectives

Knowledge and Experience

No requirement for any previous experience, we will provide training and development
Previous experience of working in an office would be an advantage but not essential
