Purpose of the Job

This is contract role leading a team focusing on onboarding the clients for a group of client advisers who have recently joined from another business. The role is expected to last for 18 months to 24 months with the possibility of a permanent role at the end of the project.
The Onboarding Team is a key team within the Operations Department. This is the first experience a client has of the Bank after the sale process, so it is vital that we provide an efficient service and positive experience whilst complying with regulations and procedures.
The key activity is to manage all aspects of the team of 6/7 who onboard new clients to the business, undertaking a series of, sometimes complex, checks on the client and all linked parties, to comply with our anti money policy, verifying and validating the documentation and ensuring the clients’ situation is corroborated by the information provided.
We offer a range of products for individual clients, GIA, ISA, AIM & SIPPs, as well as Corporate, Trust, SSAS’s, Offshore Bonds & Court of Protection.
This is a new team established to work with the new client advisers. You will work alongside them and the Operations Project Manager for this project.  You will play a key part in designing new processes to be used to onboard clients during this project and then implementing them, resolving any teething troubles and reflecting on client and client adviser feedback as you go.
Your team will use these processes to prepare the documents needed to onboard clients so that the client advisers can take these to their clients for any missing information to be added and for the documents to be signed.
Once signed, the documents will be returned to your team who will work through the process of onboarding the clients by running a series checks to complete the anti-money laundering process. If any follow up is required to obtain additional information or documents, your team will liaise with the Client Adviser and possibly the client directly. Once the anti-money laundering review is complete, they will set up the clients account and portfolios on our systems and then work with Custody colleagues to arrange for the transfer of assets.
For higher risk clients, your team will prepare cases to be submitted to our Anti Money Laundering team to complete enhanced due diligence.

7.Keeping client advisers informed of work progress and status where necessary.
8.Keeping up to date with legislative, regulatory and Inland Revenue practices (where applicable) affecting Client Servicing procedures including the acceptance of new clients.
9.Develop own professional expertise through on the job training, formal training and, where appropriate, professional qualifications.

Technical Skills

Significant experience of AML requirements for onboarding clients including leading a team
An understanding of the requirements to ensure we are compliant with FATCA & CRS regulations would be useful
Process review and evolution experience

Languages Skills

Good command of the English language
