Purpose of the Job

Brown Shipley are a seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to come onboard the exciting journey and be responsible for bespoke portfolios in the centrally managed team – covering existing and future assets.

Key Accountabilities

Portfolio Management
Bespoke proposition
-Management of existing centrally managed bespoke portfolios
-Management of bespoke portfolios over £3m as centrally managed assets grow – through either internal transfer of generation of new business

Personal proposition
-Manage a book of ‘personal portfolios’ (£1m to £3m) to support broader team in the transition of portfolios to the centre and transitioning to new investment strategy

Bespoke Proposals/ Pitches
-Support for senior strategist in the UK that leads the bespoke process across all aspects of proposal/ pitches/ process development
-Creation of bespoke solutions, pitches, investment proposals for client advisers to support the winning of new business and ongoing support for existing business
-Work with key stakeholders across the CIO function (UK and group)/ GPS to support the Client Advisors

Bespoke Process Development & Implementation
-Development of the bespoke investment process and contribution to both UK and group forums/ initiatives
-Development of portfolio construction techniques covering asset allocation/ vehicle selection/ implementation
-Develop quantitative techniques to support decision making, the articulation of  current strategy and understanding of historic risk and performance outcomes

-Spokesperson to the business across all areas of the investment strategy – port construction/ AA/ selection/ implementation, and across vehicle types (Collectives/ direct lines/ derivatives)
-Presentation of views and investment process within the team, to client advisers, and the broader business

Broader Team Contribution
-Collaborative mind set and approach to contribute to broader Investment Management Team processes
-Contribution to team communication requirements internally and externally
-Contribution to team reporting requirements across key areas – e.g. performance/ risk etc.

Knowledge and Experience

Experienced in portolio management with relevant investment industry knowledge
Knowledge of Financial Markets and Investments – specifically portfolio construction/ risk/ selection
Strong portfolio management implementation skills across vehicles/ asset classes
Skilled in quantitative and data analysis
Experience in Private Client Wealth Management/ Private Banking

Well organised and efficient.

Technical Skills

Minimum IMC, and either studying towards or completed CFA  (or equivalent)
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills but advanced in Excel
Act as true first line of defence for clients and Quintet through proactive risk management.

Languages Skills

Fluent in English
